Carmine Lombardy

Carmine M. Lombardy, a lifelong resident of Attleboro, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on July 13, 2026. He was 83 years old. Born on April 21, 1943, Carmine followed in his father’s footsteps and began his career as a jewelry engraver. He later advanced into fine firearms engraving, a craft he practiced with great skill and dedication until his retirement. His work reflected a lifelong commitment to precision, artistry, and craftsmanship. An avid outdoorsman, Carmine worked as a commercial fisherman during the 1970s and spent much of his free time hunting and fishing. He was also a lifelong clay target shooter and earned a place on state skeet teams in the 1960s. He stepped away from the sport to focus on raising his two sons, Michael and Jeffrey, but later returned to shooting alongside his son and continued until his health no longer allowed it.

He is survived by his loving wife, Celeste Lombardy; his son, Michael Lombardy and his wife Tracy of Attleboro; his son, Jeffrey Lombardy and his wife Lisa of Attleboro; his stepson, Jeffrey Mercier of Attleboro; and his stepson, David Mercier of Narragansett.

He was preceded by his father, Augustine Lombardy, his mother, Lucy (Morizzo) Lombardy and his sister, Natalie Lombardy. He also leaves six cherished grandchildren; Makaila (Lombardy) Gilmore, Seth Lombardy, Lauren Lombardy, Kara Mercier, Kyle Mercier, and Joel Mercier.
